Let’s dive into our next vendor: Your Caterer!
Today’s topic is about one of our personal favorite elements of a wedding day: THE FOOD! Yours too? There’s nothing like bringing people together and sharing a delicious meal with friends and family on the day that you celebrate your love! Like any other element of your wedding day, the food you serve should be a reflection of both of your own tastes, style, and relationship! The one to help you do this? Your caterer.
Many catering companies not only provide food and beverages, but also rentals such as linens, plates, and silverware. Your caterer will help you decide on your reception’s serving style, as well as set up a pre-wedding tasting to help you pick out specific food dishes. (The best part, are we right?!)
Once you’ve explored some food options (yum!) and narrowed down a few caterers, it’s important to meet with them to ask some important questions about their services. Here are a few to start with!
#1: Our venue requires caterers to be licensed and have liability insurance. Do you have these?
#2: Do you accommodate dietary restrictions like vegetarians, vegan, gluten-free,
allergies, etc. ? If so, are there any additional fees?
#3: How much time do you need to set up and clean up?
#4: What is provided in the clean-up service? Will staff clear all plates and food from the tables after dinner
is served?
#5: Who will be our point of contact for the planning? Will that person be at the wedding? If not, who will be
in charge on the day of?
