Update on Construction of The Eloise

Throwing it back to 1997 from the words of the great MC Luke “Come on now and RAISE THE ROOF!!!” 

That’s exactly what we did in April. We raised the walls and roof of the venue!!

The walls started going up on a Friday and by the following Thursday the roof started going up. Progress went extremely quick during this phase and everyday there were big changes to see. The first day the carpentry crew framed the back of the reception area where the bar, bathrooms, and catering preparation space are. They also got the floor trusses in the indoor ceremony space completed. The following day they started putting the exterior walls up and framing the getting ready suites and bathrooms on the loft. Then it was time for the roof. All 11,000+ square feet of the wedding venue was framed up within two weeks. Basically if you blinked during this phase, you missed the progress. 

We are in the phase where the venue is really starting to take shape. It’s no longer just a concrete slab with a foundation wall. There are now walls and a roof to the venue. 

We have been looking at blueprints and 3D renderings for so long now that it’s surreal and exciting to see the structure of The Eloise. There are many impressive aspects of the venue from the intentional design of the space to the sheer size, but the one feature that stands out is the framing of the 20 foot wall of windows. Pictures do not give this feature justice. You have to see it in person and stand next to it to fully appreciate the design, engineering, and sheer size of it. I have been dreaming of this feature for almost 4 years and to see it come to life is unreal. 

With all this progress, it’s almost time for our dusty boot tours.
