8 Fun Things To Do Instead of the Dreaded Clinking of Glasses at Your Wedding Reception
When you own a wedding venue, you see many couples bring a lot of unique ideas to their wedding days! We L-O-V-E when our couples here at The Eloise give a twist to the traditional and often dreaded clinking of glasses with a new, fun, and interactive activity instead! Below, we’re dropping 8 of our favorites. You won’t regret taking a look at these for your reception – let the party begin!
Kiss or Activity Wheel
We loved this unique idea from one of our Eloise couples, Mykala and Danny, who created a wheel for guests to spin with fun prompts on it! There were a couple of opportunities for the wheel to land on “Mr. and Mrs. kiss,” but most of the panels included fun activities or silly prompts for the person who spun to perform. Get as creative as you want!
Plinko Board
Guests who want to can come up, take a chip, and drop it into the Plinko Board. If their chip lands in the right slot, the wedding couple will kiss!
Hole in One
Have a small putting green set up for guests to come up and take a swing. If they get a hole-in-one, you and your love will kiss!
Dance or Sing
Any brave souls who will get up and sing or dance in front of all your wedding guests can earn a kiss from the happy couple. Let them choose the song or dance OR select for them!
Marriage Advice
Someone wants to see a kiss from the newlyweds? They have to come up to the mic and give you some marriage advice. This is a fun opportunity for other guests to share some words whether they be funny, serious or a mix of both!
Hula Hoop
Have someone keep time while a guest tries to hula hoop for more than 10 seconds (or longer if you want to give them more of a challenge) If they can do it, the two of you will kiss!

You and your love will kiss IF they can answer a trivia question about the two of you correctly!
Kiss Once and Be Done
Another option could be to just kiss once and be done! Have your DJ announce that you and your partner are only doing one kiss during dinner. Have them instruct your family and friends to do a “clinking of the glasses,” and then share a kiss to remember!
