Sara + Dan’s Modern Emerald Winter Wisconsin Wedding at The Eloise
It was an absolute honor to be a part of Sara + Dan’s winter wedding day here at The Eloise, and when we say a winter wedding, we mean it was the EPITOME of a winter wedding!
This sweet, fun-loving, witty couple decked out our venue in holiday spirit. Christmas trees, holiday decor, and the smell of pine filled the venue – it was magical. Upstairs, family and friends even placed their gifts for the couple underneath a Christmas tree before taking their seats for the ceremony.
In true Sara and Dan fashion, their vows were heartfelt but full of wit and humor. We’ve never heard a crowd laugh as hard as they did! Sara spoke about how her vows weren’t “vows,” but privileges. We will remember one of Sara’s lines for years to come, “I get to tell you that yes, you do look too strong and too tan in that shirt.”
They turned our reception area into a winter wonderland with trees lined up along the sides of the venue along with holiday-colored candles and garlands across the tables. They placed a tree in the middle of the reception space that served as their memory tree and hung pictures of beloved family members on it. It was such a special addition!
Dan and Sara wrote handwritten notes to every family and friend, thanking them for being a part of their lives and special day. They placed the cards at the guests’ seats with a pinecone used for a place card. This couple had incorporated so many details that we know will be talked about for years to come like a “holy matrimony” donut wall that spanned 8 feet tall filled with yummy donuts from Greenbush Bakery in Madison, having their napkins folded into little trees, and more!
Instead of having a traditional buffet line, Sara and Dan opted for food stations throughout the reception space! The big hit? Mash-tinis. They had a mashed potato bar with all the fixings served in a large martini glass. Yep, you heard that right.
